We have several music channels with our cable plan. One is called “toddler tunes” and it just plays kid’s songs all day long. J loves listening to music and it’s fun to watch her dance around, so I put it on for her for a little while yesterday.
Remember that song called “This Land is Your Land” – a popular American folk song that most kids sing in music class at school? Well that song came on. In the version played, one of the verses was sung in Spanish by a Mexican woman. It amused me because right-wingers today would be totally outraged that some Mexican is adulterating what many feel is the most patriotic song written about America. They’d shout “Lern our langage – make English the offical langage!”
This is what Republicans actually think!

Last night we decided to grab a Little Caesars $5 pizza for dinner. We were not in the mood to cook, and LC’s is just fast and easy (though somewhat cardboard-esqe tasting). I went to get the pizza while Curtis stayed home with J. When I pulled up to the window (they have a drive-thru at this one – and yes, I was being exceptionally lazy. Shut up), I noticed a crazy sauce container stuck to the wall right under the window. At first glance, I was like “what the fuck?” but then I saw that it had “TIPS PLEASE 🙂 ” scrawled on it with a black marker.
Seriously? More tip pandering by fast food workers who are already making minimum wage. Dude, you opened a window, put my $5.30 into a drawer (exact change), and handed me a box of “food.” I’m not tipping for that.
Footnote:
This is what they had taped to the exterior wall of the building, only minus the saucy goodness.
